New Forge Splitter Combination Recirculation Blow Off Valve in silver. A Dump Valve releases built up air pressure between the turbo and throttle. When you come off the throttle, the turbo continues to spin.
If the pressure has nowhere to go or doesn't get released fast enough, the turbo can slow down or even stall. This means when the throttle opens again there is a slight delay in the turbo spooling up again.
A dump or recirculation valve vents this build of air and in effect allows the turbo to free-wheel so it's still up to speed when the throttle re-opens. There's two main types of valves.
Atmospheric (or Blow Off) Valves vent to atmosphere with that distinctive "whoosh" noise. Recirculation (or Bypass Valves) quietly send the air back to the intake. The whoosh noise is fun, but quiet recirculation doesn't attract attention in the same way. This range of valves from Forge Motorsport allows you to select how you want the valve to function which is a nice option to have. As with most of Forge's kit full instructions are supplied, and the build quality is outstanding.
